Elite Archery shooters Christie Colin and Kris Schaff both secured bronze medals in the World Games, held in Wroclaw, Poland. Christie Colin won the Bronze in the 50 meter Women’s Pro Compound Division while Kris won his alongside fellow USA teammate Cassidy Cox in the Mixed Team Compound Division.
“The World Games is a special event,” said Pro Staff Coordinator Darrin Christenberry. “Not just anyone can show up and compete. Having the credentials to be invited and then being able to shoot your way through some of the best archers on the planet is no small feat. Both Christie and Kris were shooting the new Elite ReVol. The ReVol is proving to be a bow to be reckoned with in the target world.”
The World Games are staged over a period of 11 days. Much like the Olympics, events begin with an Opening Ceremony and conclude with the Closing Ceremony. Competitions at the highest level in a multitude of diverse, popular and spectacular sports make up the mainstay of The World Games. Sports practiced on land, in the air, in and on the water, all concur in the pursuit of "Faster, Higher, Stronger." At quadrennial intervals, in the years following the Games of the Olympiad, the world’s best athletes in these sports unite in their common search for excellence during The World Games.
Four compound archers were chosen for Team USA to compete in the World Games, and three of those archers shoot Elite (Christie Colin, Kris Schaff, and Reo Wilde). This was Colin’s first appearance at the World Games and her stellar performance will bring back the bronze medal for Elite Archery as well as the United States of America. Likewise, Schaff’s shooting along with partner Cassidy Cox in the mixed team compound division was another medal on the board for Team Elite and the USA. Both Wilde and Schaff placed in the top ten for the Men’s Compound Division.
“I spent several weeks before preparing for the games, exclusively with my new Elite ReVol,” said bronze medal winner Christie Colin. “This was the first time in three years I had set foot in a finals venue, and I was excited and confident. I was grateful to have fellow archer and longtime friend Reo Wilde out on the field with me. At the end of a windy final match, it came down to a shootoff, where I scored a 10 for the win.”
