Elite Shooter Cara Kelly was the runner up for the overall title of IBO Triple Crown Champion.

“The level of competition on the Pro ranges, in all of the pro classes, is as high as it has ever been,” said Elite Pro Staff Coordinator Darrin Christenberry. “Winning is tough and being a consistent finisher is no easy task.  Cara knows how to do it all.  I know that winning is all she has on her mind, but finishing in 2nd place for the overall Triple Crown is something to be very proud of.”

Although each leg of the Triple Crown has its own prize and titles, the coveted prize is the belt buckle and title of National Triple Crown Champion. A shooter can win a tournament here and there, but finishing at the top consistently is incredibly difficult. The Triple Crown is each archer’s score from each tournament.  400 is considered even par for an IBO event (40 targets, hitting all 10’s), although shooters can score higher by hitting 11 rings. The combined scores of the three IBO events make the winning Triple Crown score. Cara battled her competition for 120 targets, but fell just short of the title.
