Elite Archery shooter Keith Trail won the second-annual 2017 Organization of Professional Archery (OPA) Summit Invitational in the Senior Men’s Expert Division.
The OPA is held in Unionstown, Pennsylvania at the Historic Summit Inn.
"Keith has been a strong competitor for many years,” said Pro Staff Coordinator Darrin Christenberry. “With all his experience and his determination, this is just one of many podium finishes to come for Keith. He is a force to be reckoned with in the senior pro division."
On a hot, humid, and sticky first day, Trail shot 28 up to put him in the top two. Day two of shooting brought awful conditions, including intense fog and a torrential downpour that resulted in an hour rain delay for the shooters. Despite the poor weather, Trail kept his lead and went into the shootoff in first place with a score of 439. Trail consistently shot 10’s and 12’s in the shootoff round, earning him the coveted first place title of OPA.
“My preparation for the OPA started over 6 months ago for the transition into the Senior Pro division,” said Elite shooter Keith Trail. “I guess I'm the only one that has looked forward to turning 50! It's like starting all over again with archery, yet you have so much experience behind you.”
“My equipment was flawless!” said Trail. “I shot the CBE Vertex Sight, Scott Sigma Release, Winners Choice Strings, and they were all powered by the Victory 37, which would hands down would pound whatever I aimed at. I am so thankful for the win, but more importantly the product and service that The Outdoor Group provides its customers and shooters.”
