I am 19 years old and I love archery. I first found archery through my cousin who hunted a lot. I started shooting his bow until I got a bow to hunt with of my own at 13. After I got my first bow we started having competitions between us to improve ourselves for hunting season, so that we would make the best and most ethical shot on an animal. A couple years after I got into hunting, my local bow shop owner (Bo Morris from Bo's Backyard Bowshop) started an S3DA club and asked me to be a part of it. I shot my first tournament at 16 and went fairly well since my goal was even and I think I scored a 196 for my first tournament. Ever since that day I have found my passion in life and I can't thank Bo enough for introducing me to the sport and getting me started. Since that first shoot I have received an archery scholarship and have been attending the University of the Cumberlands pursuing a degree in applied physics. The team practices five days a week, which I love and I either go to my local shop and practice or find a local tournament on the weekend (granted I don't have any homework). My goals in archery are very simple: I want to win. I don't like to lose and that is what pushes me to go the extra mile, so that when the time comes I know I was not outworked and that I was prepared, so I have no excuses. I want to be an ASA and IBO champion along with the target tournaments such as Vegas, World Cup, Indoor Nationals, and Field Nationals. If I don't accomplish these dreams I can promise that it wasn't for lack of effort or practice - but I will be the best in the world.
